DEFINE COACHING: Performance & Rehabilitation

Code of Conduct
DEFINE Coaching: Performance & Rehabilitation — Code of Conduct (Website)
Effective Date: 1st January 2026

Purpose
DEFINE Coaching: Performance & Rehabilitation exists to help people move, feel, and perform better through professional coaching, evidence-led rehabilitation, and a supportive training culture. This Code of Conduct applies to all members, clients, guests, and visitors across both the Performance Gym and the Rehabilitation Centre.
By entering the facility, booking a session, or using our services, you agree to follow this Code.

Where This Applies
This Code applies in:
-
Performance Areas: gym floor, rigs, free weights, cardio zones, classes, open gym, and any performance testing or training sessions.
-
Rehabilitation Areas: consultation/treatment rooms, rehab training zones, waiting/reception areas, and any rehab-led sessions (1:1 or small group).
-
Facility-Wide Areas: reception, corridors, toilets, changing areas, entrances/exits, and parking behaviour that impacts others.

The DEFINE Standards (12 Rules)
1) Respect Everyone
Treat all members, staff, practitioners, and coaches with respect at all times.
-
Discrimination, harassment, intimidation, bullying, or aggressive behaviour is not tolerated.
-
Respect personal space and boundaries — especially in rehabilitation settings where privacy and comfort matter.
2) Arrive Ready
Be on time and prepared for your appointment or session.
-
Performance: late arrivals may need to modify the session or wait for coach direction to join safely.
-
Rehabilitation: arrive early enough to complete any pre-appointment steps (forms, check-in). Missed time may reduce treatment time.

3) Keep Personal Items Tidy
Personal belongings must be stored neatly and safely.
-
Bags, shoes, and loose items must be kept off walkways and away from active training areas.
-
Rehab spaces should remain calm and uncluttered for safety and professionalism.

4) Food & Drinks
-
No food on the gym floor or in treatment areas.
-
Closed-lid bottles only in training spaces.
-
Please follow any staff instructions around hygiene-sensitive areas.

5) Clean Your Equipment
Clean equipment immediately after use.
-
Wipe down benches, machines, mats, rigs, and cardio equipment.
-
In rehabilitation areas, follow practitioner guidance for hygiene protocols and equipment handling.

6) Return Equipment
Re-rack weights and return all equipment to the correct location
-
Leaving equipment out creates hazards and disrupts other sessions.
-
Rehab equipment must be returned and reset as directed to support client safety and scheduling.
7) Listen to Coaches & Practitioners
Follow the instructions of DEFINE staff at all times.
-
Performance: coaching direction is for safety, progression, and session quality.
-
Rehabilitation: practitioner instruction is essential for clinical safety and effective recovery.
If you’re unsure about a movement, load, or modification — ask.
8) Train With Purpose
Stay focused and aware of your surroundings.
-
Limit phone use during sessions unless necessary.
-
Avoid walking through active lifting or movement lanes.
-
Respect the tone of rehabilitation spaces (quiet, calm, private).
9) Use Equipment Properly
Use equipment only as intended and within your capacity.
-
Do not attempt heavy lifts, complex skills, or risky progressions without appropriate readiness and control.
-
Dropping or throwing equipment is only permitted where appropriate and when coached.
-
Any unsafe use may result in immediate instruction to stop.
10) Stay Safe & Speak Up Early
Safety is non-negotiable.
-
If you feel unwell, dizzy, or injured, stop and notify a coach/practitioner immediately.
-
Report damaged equipment, hazards, or unsafe behaviour straight away.
-
Follow all facility safety signage, spacing guidance, and staff instructions.
11) Support the Community
We protect the culture together.
-
Encourage others and share space respectfully.
-
Be considerate with equipment availability and training time.
-
Everyone’s journey is different — keep the environment supportive and inclusive.
12) Define Yourself
Take ownership of your standards and effort.
-
Show up consistently, respect the process, and value progress over ego.
-
Your attitude contributes to the quality of the space for everyone

Privacy, Filming, and Confidentiality (Facility-Wide)
Because DEFINE includes a Rehabilitation Centre, privacy is essential.
-
Do not film or photograph in rehab areas at any time.
-
In performance areas, filming is allowed only if it does not disrupt sessions and does not capture other people without their clear consent.
-
Staff may restrict filming at any time (busy classes, safety concerns, privacy reasons).

Appropriate Behaviour and Language
-
Abusive, threatening, or sexually inappropriate language or behaviour will result in immediate action.
-
We do not tolerate behaviour that makes others feel unsafe, unwelcome, or judged.

Health & Safety Expectations
-
Wear appropriate training attire and closed-toe footwear in performance areas unless otherwise instructed.
-
Follow return-to-train guidance and load management plans if you are under rehab care.
-
You are responsible for working within safe limits and communicating concerns early.

Enforcement
If this Code is breached, DEFINE may take any of the following actions depending on severity:
-
verbal reminder or formal warning
-
session termination (you may be asked to leave immediately)
-
temporary suspension of acces
-
